Nutrition Links Program
(EFNEP/FSNEP)

What is Nutrition Links?

The Nutrition Links Program is an integral part of the Cooperative Extension Service. Nutrition Links teaches families with limited incomes how to improve their dietary practices and become more effective managers of available resources.

Who does it benefit?

This program benefits low income individuals of all ages. The program provides education instruction, in-home visits, group demonstrations, and Food Bank demonstrations.

Nutrition Links targets:

  • low-income individuals of all ages
  • pregnant teens and women
  • school-age youths.

It helps to teach:

  • nutrition
  • planning for daily food needs
  • preparing low-cost, nutritious meals
  • buying food economically
  • using safe and sanitary food practices
  • planning prenatal, infants and children's diets
  • effectively using other food programs and community resources.
  • food safety
  • food resource management to limited resources individuals.

School-age children are involved in 4-H clubs, hands-on experiences in classrooms, and summer day camps. They learn decision-making skills for better health, how to prepare nutritious snacks, the benefits of exercise, and more.

If you have any questions about these programs or unsure that you are eligible for these programs, please contact the Centre County Cooperative Extension at (814) 355-4897.
